HOW TO SURVIVE THE GREAT SINGAPORE SALE (GSS)
Well, you see the GSS signboards everywhere.
You walk into the shop, pick up the same top you bought 1 month ago and realise it is now disgustingly on HALF PRICE! Same goes for that pair of jeans you have always wanted to buy!
So, you gather your energy, grab as many as you can, whip out your Mastercard, and throw it at the cashier's face, feeling proud of your kills today. And the bill probably amounts to what you would spend for 1 year, except it was spent in 1 freaking day.
Some tips for the impulse buyers (like me) :

Some tips for the impulse buyers (like me) :
- Make use of the GSS website for it's discount coupons for several shops (Courts, Orange Julius, Watsons, Taka Jewellery and more!) Click here.
- Pay with Mastercard. For every purchase that you make with your Mastercard during the GSS period, you are automatically entered into a lucky draw, with the chance to win a S$100,000 shopping spree!
- Draw up a shopping list before you hit the malls! This will help you focus on the things that you need, instead of aimlessly looking for things to buy.
- Saw something you fancy? Take note of the shop or write it down in a small notebook and come back again. While walking around, you are likely to find better options or deals, so, do not buy on the spot unless you are very sure the item is what you want.
- Stick with my mantra, "BUY WHAT YOU NEED". Now, repeat after me, "buy what you NEED."
- Of course, we should not forget about saving the Earth while shopping! Go green, bring your own shopping bag, or simply carry a bigger bag. Also, it looks unglam for the ladies to carry so many plastic bags, unless you have someone *ahem* to carry it for you. (Twinnie, I know you would be very proud of me for telling ppl to save the earth. LOL)
- Shop with a rational friend. The person will be able to bring you back to reality.
Enjoy shopping my friends! (:
